The governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey are collaborating to build a railway connecting their respective capitols. The BTK railway is an important connection in the rail transport corridor that links Central Asia and China to Europe. The railroad is intended to increase regional cooperation in the South Caucasus, though the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict made it politically impossible to include Armenia in the train's route.
