Don Muang - U-Tapao High Speed Rail

Description

The $6.9 billion high-speed rail project will connect three of Thailand's major international airports constituting one of the largest single infrastructure projects in the country's history. It was originally proposed as an ideal candidate for China-Japan infrastructure cooperation in third countries. However, after Japanese companies Itochu and Hitachi dropped due to risk concerns, a consortium comprising mostly of Chinese companies is likely to win the bid. Thailand expects to select the final winner in January 2019.
